“Wealth
consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants.”- Epictetus -Epictetus, 100 AD
“If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.”
-James Madison, U.S. fourth president, 1751-1836
“Remember, democracy never lasts
long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.”
-John Adams, U.S. second president, 1797-1801
As voracious readers with a unique insight into
the rise and fall of the empires, America's founders were well aware of the nature's rule of law and the significance of working
within it to survive the test of time. Most important of all, they did a far better job of it than we do now with all
of our sophisticated technology! Alas, there are ample reasons to believe that America's Net progress has been negative
as a result of
abandoning the valuable insights of its founders. Please note that I underscore Net because
it is a technological progress that increasingly departs from
being Capitalism wih human face in service
of humanity and the fulfillment its dream of prevailing good over evil. When Albert Einstein sad,
“I do not
know what weapons will be used in WWIII, but WWIV will be fought with sticks and stones”, he meant just that. Thus we can conclude that while we ridicule the the
little suicide bombers all over the world,
we, as a nation have been acting as
a giant suicide bomber in a massive scale, worse yet we are conditioned
to
go into denial. An ancient Ethiopian-another graveyard of empires, is
“Those who hide their
wounds will never find a cure!” Perhaps America's departure from its ideals could be likened to the ever-widening
and deepening of Grand Canyon. So wide and deep that
its founders would spin in their graves if they could see this
setback.
Had the successive generations of America understood, the American Ideals, this nation would
be the
undisputed world leader with the deepest and warmest place in their hearts and minds of its people
so that America would not have to
resort to the most futile wars. In other words I believe that the only
way to change the world for better is cultivation of
sense of responsibility in each one of the
People
who are its building blocks. We have failed to realize some simple principles such as
the quality of the
building blocks in order to withstand the test of time. This urge is imbedded in this ancient Chinese proverb,
“If
everyone sweeps their door-step the whole town would be clean” or the African saying that
“It
takes a village”or George Orwell's words, “It takes a lot of effort to see what is in front of your nose”
or similar pieces of wisdom we have abandoned.
The so called
“War on Terror” and similar futile
quagmires and major internal problems that are bankrupting America and the world, are the
cumulative and
cancerous growth of residual colonial mentality whose roots can be traced to antiquity and whose objective is to rule the
world and force their belief on it-that is counter to the original ideals of American Revolution.
America's
setback has been the brainchild of America's own extremists who provoke and create such disasters and are not touched by the
American Revolution, Bill of Rights, Constitution and the First Amendment, but pretend otherwise-run-away hypocrisy.
Possessed by
AIG-arrogant, ignorance and greed that is coincidentally the acronym for the infamous AIG. They
are opportunists with no conviction other than making money by any means and could be members of any party. For more on this
please google the word greening or
greeding of America! To those who think I am naïve to think that
we can eradicate hypocrisy, I say that my concern is that hypocrisy is increasingly becoming a norm rather than an exceptional
attribute.
As a naturalized American citizen I feel fully confident that if not for the voices of dissent and
the constant flow of immigrants with fresh ideas that have kept this Nation of Immigrants vibrant despite the constant attempts
of its own extremists to make America a house divided against itself and wrongly antagonizing and blaming the world for its
demise. As Erick Fromm said, “The world is graveyard of empires that did not meet the challenge of their time.”
My main concern is that we are not meeting that challenge. Therefor, I am determined to do all I can to protect this nation
from decay and its net
negative impact on the stability of the world as we have known. I
have maintained this website for over ten years. At this time I am shrinking its content even more in the interest of brevity
for the public that has increasingly lost interest in such vital issues as a result of
being bombarded with misinformation
rather than truth even during our Information Age. My purpose is to demonstrate that America's downfall
is the
direct result of deterioration of the public education that leads to public awareness-the founders' prerequisite
for understanding, appreciation and preservation of the government of the people as opposed to the government of a few.
It is past the time to go back to square one, reevaluate our performance and rediscover the wisdom of saying
“we
reap what we sow”. We can only reverse our further downfall by
launching what I call a War on Ignorance
and find out that it is our
fastest, cheapest and best guarantee of global peace and prosperity and Homeland Security
than our own present brand of War on Terror.
It is unbecoming of America to let its destructive power dominate its
enormous constructive potential and deprive us of the dividend of technology for solving not only our own problems,
but those of the world that is still looking up to us for real leadership. Millions of decent Americans are already doing
this, but we need to energize millions more to neutralize the obstacles created by the extremists.
Has the abandoning
the wisdom of the America's founders
made us a nation with its head in the clouds without having its feet on the ground?
Is this a responsible way of
spending the money we do not have or borrow to kill and maim our own young people and
then spend more money to cure the brand new physical and mental problems of the modern warfare for making artificial limbs
for our surviving soldiers while we lack the money to take care of our deteriorating infrastructure? We will never win this
war, but if we ever do, what are we going to export to these invaded lands? Will it be sound public education, participatory
democracy, fiscal responsibility, balanced budget with what we no longer have, is the challenge of our time. As Thomas Jefferson
said, “ An empire collapses more from within than from without.”We are self-destructing by not meeting the challenges
of our time and by not addressing the roots of our enormous local, national and international crime that are evolving from
conventional to cyber crimes with no end in sight.
I try to relate my writing to people's common
sense rather than cluttering their minds with numerous links and end up losing their attention. I trust that my readers are
able to go to the search engines, use the key words I use and make this a simple drill in participatory democracy. After
all, how many people need links to the issues that require common sense such as the sunshine is warm or the earth is not flat?
This website will review the unfinished journey of America and the reasons behind its failure to be in charge of its
own destiny, ironically by no one other than itself. It will be done in
five sections, namely: Introduction, Roots
of Terrorism, Defeat of Terrorism, Return of Terrorism and Over-all Summary. Each page will also have its own summary.End of Page 1
